Please let me know if I'm being too specific, I've never posted on here before.
I took a photo a few years ago of a celebratory moment, a team mate jumping into another teammates arms after a big win. It was a popular photo, published in newspapers and a few artists put their spin on it and painted it. One of these renditions has since blown up and I can see he's sold thousands of copies. He put a religious spin on it and has denied it has anything to do with LGBTQ, even tho a woman in the photo is gay. He complained on social media people were copying his work and has done interviews on blogs talking about his work and the "inspiration" behind it. In these interviews he lies about where the reference photo came from and made up a story about painting a dream. Upon googling it I found out this image is EVERYWHERE. Try googling "First day in heaven". It bothers me my photo is being used to promote religion and this person seems homophobic. I'm not looking for money, if that's a possibility I would just donate it to fund the sport I was shooting anyways. I'm in Canada, he's in Egypt. Any advice would be appreciated.
