A few weeks ago, I posted this about how my coworker was trying to press charges on me for choking after stealing and eating my spicy lunch.
The police came to my office the following Monday and spoke to my boss, and that's all I know because I took advice from this sub that said to not speak to the police at all. They stopped calling me and I thought it was over.
Then yesterday I got a letter informing me that the co-worker in question is suing me for thousands upon thousands of dollars! Apparently her ambulance ride and overnight hospital stay was really expensive, and she had to stay overnight because of a panic attack or something.
She's back to work and told another co-worker that she had to be attached to a heart monitor for hours and she's saying that I poisoned her but the police won't look into it because she's old and I'm young.
Can she even do this to me? She's harassing me at this point! She stole my lunch, she got sick, she needs to pay for those hospital bills herself, right?
I haven't done anything except bring the same lunch I've been bringing into the office for years now, and suddenly I'm getting sued and she's telling people that I'm a wannabe murderer.
I can't really afford a lawyer, but I could try if I really needed to.
What do I do?
