Long story short, I did a cash deal for a new car. The trade in was brought in. They independently inspected it and appraised it. They made the offer for it which was definitely high but who is going to refuse it? What they did was copied the odometer wrong by a long shot which was the source of their error. I see now that on the paperwork that it was in fact copied wrong. Additionally, I wasn't even present for the deal, I only signed the final paperwork. It said sign here, here and here, one section of which had the odometer reading which specifically states "to the best of my knowledge the odometer reading is correct". I Only know this now because of the dispute. Here is another variable as if this didn't make it more complicated, my wife's name is on the bill of sale which she signed and paid in full for the vehicle the day before I picked it up. Now her copy does not have the odometer reading at all on it. So it is a done deal, I see the error they are referring to, so what do I do? Note: This happened in Alberta, Canada.
