NY - Over the past couple of years my dad has constantly sent me to psychiatric units were he would lie to get me admitted as a form of punishment. What can I do to prevent this? I thought this would have stopped since I'm over 18. Can I sue him in any way? Those visits have messed up my work/school situation numerous times and have had a negative impact on my mental health. I'm afraid to go to the hospital because my dad takes advantage of the situation and tries to get me mental health treatment. I have a great career and I'm about to finish college and move on to medical school. I am not schizo or bipolar or anything like that I do have anxiety and have dealt with depression in the past.
