My sister has been living with me rent free for 2 years. What was meant to be a stepping stone became a four lane highway. I am reluctant to evict her because it will give her problems when trying to find a new place. Do I have any other options? I live in California.

Edit: A little context to our relationship and why this is so hard for me: She’s almost 20 years older than me. I have a lot of mixed feelings about this. On one hand I want to change the locks when she leaves and tell her to get her shit. On the other hand this is a woman who I grew up admiring and idolizing. It’s extremely hurtful to be on this side of it and I will eventually do what I have to do to get her out, I was just wondering if I could go about it without an official eviction.
