The California company I work for made me work a 23 hour shift. During this shift they clocked me for a minute at midnight so they could avoid having to pay me double overtime and overtime hours.

Is this legal? Surely it can't be or employers would just clock everyone out for a minute before they had to pay overtime. What can I do about this? Is there anyone that can give me advice on what to do, please?
