Can I connect an external hard to a power brick, to a powered usb hub, then connect my iPhone to view movies?

Going on a ship for 3 months with no internet and I am not allowed a computer. I have a 2tb hard drive with movie/tv/porn. What’s the best option for viewing this? I was also looking at a mw passport pro that is exactly suited for my needs but reviews said it wasn’t really reliable. Any help of advice would be much appreciated
