Court case approaching in October. My attorney died so I have to find a new one. No lawyer wants to take my case unless I have an expert oral surgeon lined up. Wisdom tooth extraction resulted in permanent nerve damage on my lower right lip/chin area. How would I go about finding an expert?[Hawaii]

Nerve damage after tooth extraction of all 4 wisdom teeth. Operation took place in 2014. Numbness on bottom right portion of mouth, from right corner of lips to middle bottom lip down to jawline. Dentist retired shortly after my operation and moved to the mainland.

Found lawyer to take case. Sadly this lawyer passed away. Court case is in October, no new lawyer is willing to work with me unless I find an expert. (Dentist saying my nerve damage was due to malpractice?)

After getting the insurance at my new job, went into new dentist office for initial check up. Dentist noticed I still had all 4 wisdom teeth, suggested I get them removed. I agreed to an extraction for all 4. I couldn’t afford the gas so I did local anestheaia. Dentist and his assistant performed the operation. The next day I noticed I still had numbness on my lower right side of my mouth. From the far right corner of my lips to the center bottom lip down to my jawline. I have been to neurologist twice. I was told both times my nerve damage would most likely not heal. The neurologist told me it was most likely caused during the injection from the needle of the anastesia.

Now I’m tasked with finding an oral surgeon ‘expert‘ willing to testify on my behalf that my nerve damage is a result of malpractice. How should I go about finding such a person? Thanks for your time
