Fired on FMLA do I have a case?

I was on FMLA leave and when I got back I was told that I was losing my job because I ‘failed to communicate’ with my supervisor about when I needed to be gone. I have emails to show that I did in fact tell my supervisor a month in advance. The HR person that I spoke with also no longer works with the company as of last week so theres no way she could cosign with my claims but the emails should be enough. The HR does not want to see the emails and instead she wants me to write an email basically saying I am at fault with this and they’ll ‘review’ my employment status. I feel they are just doing this so if I do sue they’d use that email that i was forced to write against me. Do I have a case?

Edit: I’m in MA
