Sitting at home bored on a Saturday, I decided to try "A Short Hike," the humble original game released in April's Humble Monthly Bundle. I sat down to just try it out but ended up beating it in one sitting, which took about an hour and a half.
If you have access to this game, I really recommend trying it out. At its core, it is a beautiful isometric platformer that appears to unofficially takes place in the Animal Crossing universe.
A Short Hike feels like Celeste in an Animal Crossing summer camp, with a sprinkling of adventure game thrown in for good measure. It plays great, has a wonderful little world to explore, and is full of charm.
My favorite thing about it is the ever increasing sense of size and scale. Since I went in to this knowing nothing about the game, I was surprised repeatedly by how the scope changed as I progressed.
Has anyone else tried this game? If so, thoughts?
And are there any other Humble Originals anyone recommends?
