Someone claiming to be a former employee is claiming disability from my company but they’ve never worked for me

I own a small business in California (my husband and i are the only “employees”). I recently got a letter from EDD saying there is a disability claim from a former employee. The person claiming this was never my employee. He is my estranged friends boyfriend. He’s never worked for me although he may have said so on a resume in the past (just guessing). But I’ve never given him money and he’s never done any work for me. He wouldn’t have any proof of employment or payment. The claim said he worked for me in 2018 and I haven’t seen or spoken to him in a couple years. They sent the claim to my home address and not my business address because that’s all he knows.

Obviously, I will let EDD know he has never been an employee but how will this affect him since he lied? Did he attempt to commit fraud? And will this claim affect my business in any way? I’ve never experienced anything like this before. Thanks.
