So, buckle up guys this is a long one. My mother has a history of making questionable decisions, and recently she bought a car from her boyfriends sister. The sister signs the title over, and has it mailed to MY address. No idea how she got my address, I don’t speak with this woman, I barely know her. She gets upset because my mother has the title, claims she doesn’t remember signing the car over and calls the police and says my mother stole the car. Police show up at my house, and I direct them to my mom. Police see no crime being committed, since title is in her name and go on their way. Police show up again last night, an anonymous call sending them to my house under allegation of child abuse, claiming my younger brother was being starved and hasn’t been fed in days. My mom happens to be at my house with my brother, they talk to the brother, find out it’s a lie go on their way. The sister begins texting my mother, saying that “I’m gonna ruin you. I’m gonna ruin your entire family. I won’t stop until all your lives are destroyed.” Follows up with “I’ve had people following all of you. My GF is a cop, I’m gonna f**k you.” She continues texting my mom into the night, making similar threats and saying she’s stalking my family. What is our recourse? I can’t handle having cops showing up at my doorstep everyday.
