I was driving to work today and there was a guy in a pickup truck weaving in and out of traffic wildly trying to get by everybody. He was a foot from my bumper behind me and the light ahead of us went from green to yellow. We probably could have made it but I stopped. Pickup truck guy locked up his brakes hard and was swerving left and right and I thought his truck was going to roll over. He ended up screaming at me out the window, I ended up turning right at the red light just to get away from him, he followed me to my work parking lot and parked sideways behind me. We both got out of our vehicles and I yanked out my phone and started recording video.
I told him I was recording and I had his plate on video. He was screaming like a lunatic and said something about how recording someone without their permission was a felony in Wisconsin and his brother-in-law was a cop and he was going to report me. He took a picture of me with his phone and a picture of my license plate then sped off so fast his tires squealed and he almost hit a co-workers car (I have this all on video).
I'm pretty sure I did nothing wrong but is there any truth to the fact you can't record someone? This was all in public.
