Bitcoin Core members have openly embraced the idea of a high-fee market, but say that everyone should be able to afford to run their own full node... There is a strange disconnect here.

Everyone should be able to afford their own full node, but not everyone should be able to afford to actually send a transaction? Why the heck would those people want/need a full node?!
