So , today, Easter Sunday, I went home to have Easter dinner with my parents and sister. My sister and mother were at church. When they come back, my sister stays in the car, crying. I went out to say hi and check on her, and before I can , her boyfriend rolls up and she gets in. They leave. I go back inside and am informed that Shitbag Boyfriend(SB) had attempted to put hands on her and she throat punched him. Later , he showed up at church ( today) and SB was acting an ass, which was why my sister was upset. Now, I had been drinking, and when they pulled back into the yard shortly after, I stormed out ,pulled open his door , and got in his face, including grabbing him. BUT I let go, backed off, and contented myself with ranting..... until he sucker punched me about 30 seconds later. At which point I got up on him while he covered up and punched him. Then I backed up ,told him to get out of the truck, etc. He punched me again, vice versa, he left.
Maybe this is a stupid question , but can I be charged with assault? Can he ? Maryland both over 18.
