I work in a labor union that dispatches us out to various facilities to do our job. At one of the job sites, the building requires that we deposit our drivers licenses at a security booth next to the back entrance. We get a small badge to access the rest of the building for the rest of the day, and we have to write our names down with the number of that badge.
Is this legal at all? I really hate not having my own ID on me, and I can come up with a ton situations where our crew of dozens would not be able to rush to the opposite side of a property to get to their ID. Fire, attack, hell even a medical situation.
To me this seems to skirt past what is reasonable for a contracted employee to go through. i might be wrong though, so I would appreciate input.
Thanks.
